Litha

June 21 -- Summer Solstice -- Litha

Also known as: Alban Heruin (Druidic) Although the name Litha is not well attested, it may come from Saxon tradition -- the opposite of Yule. On this longest day of the year, light and life are abundant. At mid-summer, the Sun God has reached the moment of his greatest strength. Seated on his greenwood throne, he is also lord of the forests, and his face is seen in church architecture peering from countless foliate masks. The Christian religion converted this day of Jack-in-the-Green to the Feast of St. John the Baptist, often portraying him in rustic attire, sometimes with horns and cloven feet (like the Greek Demi-God Pan)Midsummer Night's Eve is also special for adherents of the Faerie faith. The alternative fixed calendar date of June 25 (Old Litha) is sometimes employed by Covens. The name Beltane is sometimes incorrectly assigned to this holiday by some modern traditions of Wicca, even though Beltane is the Gaelic word for May.

Heroes

Heroes In My Life

My Grandmother and Grandfather: They showed me so much growing up from what love and marriage is suppose to be like to being brought up right. To understanding the good and bad in the world today. They where always there for me as well there still are here for me today. Words can't describe how much they mean to me. I miss them so much being so far away. They just turned 89 and 91 this year and been married over 60 years. I can't wait to see them again.

My Husband Joel, My One True Love: For being there for me no matter what, showing me what love is suppose to be like, for being himself and no other. When things get tough he will always stand by one another and to make sure we are there for one another to fight the fights seen and unseen together. When we both thought we couldn't love again and didn't want to love again due to all the hurt and pain we have both gone though we where there for one another as we fell deeper and deeper in love day by day as we talked. Also, the day we have children I know he will be a amazing father. There is so many things that makes this man my hero that words can't describe. Words can't even describe how much I love him and what he means to me.

My dad: Even though there was/is still some bad blood between us. He still manages to always be there for me.

Jonathan Davis: Having the same past as me, singing and letting his emotions and anger out though his music as helped me cope with my anger and emotions I had from my past. I didn't realize it wasn't my fault until I listened to his music. Friends always told me it wasn't but they didn't know the pain I felt. But when I heard it come from Jon. I knew he knew the pain.
