Happy 250th Birthday America!!

21+ years ago, I moved to the USA and received my green card.
11+ years ago, even though I still had a few years left on my card...
I did a thing, got my American citizenship!

I may have been born and raised in Canada. But my heart and soul are the red, white, and blue.
I am proud to be an American and everything our country stands for.
I never felt at home in Canada; it felt flat.

When I met my hubby online gaming almost 22 years ago.
My grandma said, "Do what makes you happy; I will not go anywhere till you are"
She was right... even after my grandpa passed at 93 (around my hubby and I's 3rd anniversary)
She kept going. They were married over 65 years; I wanted that for myself.

Then around our 5th anniversary, I got the call; she was in the hospital, she fell and hurt her hip.
She kept saying how much she missed my Grandfather.
I wanted to talk with her but... I was told that she took out her hearing aid & took her glasses off.
Clearly she was ready.
I hung up the phone & did what I hadn't done since I was a child.

I couldn't be there, so I prayed, prayed that God let her know I was happy.
Now I wanted her to be happy & go be with Grandpa.
Not even 5 minutes later, I got another call; she was now 93, and she was gone.
I knew God delivered my message ❤

Now I hadn't prayed since I was a kid; I had my ups and downs with religion.
I even swore it off for years, even though I was born and raised Catholic.
This day changed me and my beliefs, knowing God had been with me all this time.
Even the times I didn't believe. I had my reasons during those times in my life.

Ever since I moved to the USA, I have a new family & so many friends.
I've had so many opportunities in wrestling, art, and many other things here that I would have NEVER accomplished in Canada.
I get asked all the time, "Don't you miss Canada?" I tell people, "certain family and friends, yes, but other than that, fuck no!"

When I took my pledge of allegiance, I felt and still feel whole.
Thanks for the freedoms we have here that they don't have in Canada.
It is thanks to our troops past and present.
Being married to a veteran and having friends who are veterans.
I know the sacrifices that were made.

Thank you!
ðŸ«¡ Happy 4th of July, everyone.
 Happy 250, America.
I pray I can live as long as my grandparents to see the 300th 😃
